TEAM MOM - MARY STREET |
||||
NAME: Mary Street
FAVORITE MLB TEAM: AMERICA'S TEAM! The Atlanta Braves FAVORITE MLB PLAYER: I've had many over the years, but a name that sticks in my mind is Tom Glavine, pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. I remember watching him pitch in game 5 of the 1991 World Series games against the Minnesota Twins when the Braves scored 14 runs. The Braves lost the first 2 games of the series in Minnesota, then came to our home field and played three INCREDIBLE! games. Game 4 went 12 innings! I was living in downtown Atlanta at the time, and I still remember seeing him on the mound the parade the city threw for them, even though they lost the series 3-4. GREATEST MOMENT IN BASEBALL: Watching my boys play! MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT IN BASEBALL: Uh.....I don't remember. FAVORITE DREAM MOMENT IN BASEBALL: When Jeremy made a bullet pitch from 3rd to throw out a runner at first. HOBBIES: Painting, Hiking, Fishing, Boating FAVORITE ICE CREAM: Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip FUTURE CAREER: Retired! How has playing baseball made you a better person? My love for baseball developed in kind of a weird way. I've never actually played, but as a kid growing up, I watched the Atlanta Braves on TV and got kind of hooked. In college and beyond, I lived in downtown, and went to Braves games at the old Atlanta Fulton County Stadium where Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's home run record. I loved sitting in the stands, eating peanuts, and cheering. Watching my kids play makes me feel like something that I've enjoyed they are getting to enjoy in even a better way because they get to play! What is the most challenging part about playing baseball? Keeping the scorebook. What is the best thing a coach has either told you or said about you? It's not your fault. What other information would you like to share about yourself? By day I'm a Commercial Real Estate Agent. FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYINGS: Tomorrow begins today. |
