#25 AARON LEAVITT |
||||
5/09/2008 - Cardinals vs. Nationals -
We were playing the Nationals. They were good, but we hit in their holes. I played against my friends Jonah Petersen (Matt’s Brother) and Ammon Brown (Aaron Brown’s little brother). Jonah played first base and he tripped me on accident when I was running to first base. He made a great catch when our player hit a hard line drive grounder to first and he stuck out his glove and caught it.
My friend Ammon Brown hit a double the hit the left center fence. I was playing second base and Tyson threw the ball to me at second base. I caught it and spun around and put the glove to the ground in front of the base and he slid right into it for the out. I like to play second base because you get lots of balls thrown to you. There are always plays made at second base. I got walked once and hit a grounder to the outfield for a single. I stole my way to second off the walk. On my hit I stole to second and then Bailey hit me home. I like to steal. That is why I like this league. Stealing is what I have always wanted to do. We won the game 12-1 with the mercy rule after 4 innings. |

It was pretty amazing watching Aaron make the tag on Ammon Brown, as he described it above. The play was text book with Aaron getting the catch and taking his other hand to secure the glove closed as he placed it hard on the ground to get the tag. The techniques that Aaron used he learned while coming to our older Dodger team practices. He is a sponge that wants to do his best. |
